Just want to wish masses of luck and happiness to all of our dc who are off to start their new adventures at Colleges/Uni's over the coming weeks - Brit School have already started! I am lucky that my dd - who is off to Laine - will remain living at home but my ds is moving away to Uni (not performing!) I know it will probably be just as hard for us parents as it is for our children - I'm sure they will be as anxious and excited as we are - but maybe for different reasons
It has been a long journey over the past year and I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has held my hand along the way and been so generous with support and advice - it has meant a lot :)
Good luck too to those who are just starting out on the audition rounds this year and to those who didn't quite get what they wanted last year and will be re auditioning this year.
Looking forward to hearing how everyone settles in so please keep posting ;) xxx

Suesmith - great post and I too am very grateful for everyones help, advise, guidance and support during my DD's journey over the past 2/3 years.

I am so looking forward to the next stage, she is off to Bodyworks as well (like Jasmine's DD) and is extremely excited! The two of us are driving to Cambridge tomorrow to collect her room key (unfortunately we don't live close, but she is sharing a home with other bodywork students). At the moment she plans on coming home weekends so I don't feel like she is really 'leaving me'.... yet.

So, I guess the audition journey has ended but I believe the journey will continue and be a very exciting one for them all during the next 3 years to come! I will keep posting updates from time to time, and look forward to hearing how everyone else's DC are doing xx

How lovely - good luck to everyone's children from us too - I wonder if DD will meet any of you/your DC at Performers?

It's a big step for them all

Good luck to all of them. Having lived their journeys alongside you, through this forum, I'm in awe of their determination to get where they want to be and their resilience through the selection processes. =D> =D> =D>

You must all be super-human super-parents to support them through it too! =D> =D>

Can't wait to hear more about their adventures. They are a real inspiration to me and to my much-smaller-but-getting-bigger DD too

Deb x

Masses of fun, excitement and adventures ahead I am sure for all the guys starting courses this year. I expect they will be challenged, stretched (literally!) and rewarded for their hard work and determination. My dd's auditions start this year, so let the battle commence!

Good luck everyone starting this year or auditioning soon.
DD moved to London last week and had her first day at Urdang today, apparently full on practical assessments all day. All good so far :)

I, on the other hand, am finding my empty nest rather bleak at the moment

Dance On - such an exciting time for them! DD has moved part of her stuff into her accomodation just yesterday (long drive) and I'm not quite sure if it is possible that she could be more excited than me! (Am sure she must be, but what a great experience for them)

Carriecrafts - bless you! I'll be in same boat in 2 weeks :( All the best for your DD though x

We would like to wish all those moving away in the next few weeks good luck and enjoy every minute of your experience ..... you all worked really hard to get there,
DD has a week before she goes , settled now after a bit of a hiccup with accommodation but all good now..
Keeps us on our toes as they say .

Moving day for us today, seem to have an awful lot of stuff. DD is feeling quite anxious - I can't quite believe it's here after all the hard work and trauma of the audition process.
Thanks to this forum for the tons of advice that I found on here, I wish I had known about it years ago, I now tell all of my friends with performing kids where to look.
Good luck to all of you that have DD or DS starting this academic year, I know we have all been on a similar journey, with lots of highs and lows. I think though, that this is just the beginning - best stock up the gin because I don't think the rocky road is over.
Good luck everyone and thanks =D> =D>
