Self-tape advice

Hello was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice!

I did a self-tape audition about a month ago, which I posted on Youtube about a month ago on Unlisted ( so only those with the link can view it ).

I sent the link of the video to my Agent , who confirmed they had sent the link to the Casting Director.

However having looked at the YOutube views quite regularly, it doesn't look like the video has actually been viewed yet by the CD . This worries me slightly as I know auditions for this project have been ongoing, and I'd hate to miss out on an audition just because my Self-tape audition hadn't been watched by accident or something. It is for a fairly big project aswell!

However of course the thing is I can't be 100% sure that is hasn't been watched - so I don't know what to do really! I obviously can't really email my agent to explain my concerns , because there is nothing they could really do about it, as they definitely gave the link to the CD?

Any suggestions?

I tend to use Drop box as you are sent a notification when it's forwarded. Not sure about You Tube. I think you could kindly mention your concerns, but I would hope that you trust your agent to make the best decision for you, as it ultimately helps them too :) If they didn't like it and didn't send it, then it would be good to find out why, so you could try again or know for next time.

Thank you CatKat

After I sent the link to my agent, they emailed me saying they had sent it straight to the CD - do you think its possible they might not actually have done this then? thanks x

I think they've probably done exactly what they said they'd done. Don't think they have anything to gain from lying to you x

it is quite likely that the CD will have had hundreds - possibly even thousands - of tapes. They may simply not have time to watch them all. I know it seems really disheartening when you have gone to the trouble of doing the tape - but it's possible that the CD looked at the details the agent sent, glanced at your photo and CV and decided you were not a priority.

They may still get round to viewing it.

I think it's probably one of those things you have to "let go".
