Auditioning for 2024 entry
Can I start this one please?
My daughter wants to go to PA 6th form and we have just booked her first audition, so it feels real! Nothing suitable anywhere near us, so if she gets in somewhere, she’ll have to leave home.
She has booked for Emil Dale and is also hoping to audition for Stageworks and maybe Arts1.

Emil Dale 6th form is a great choice - definitely one of the very best BTEC courses in our opinion - and many students live with host families in their first year. Good luck as you start out on this rollercoaster of a ride and all the best to your DD!

Thank you. She does part time at EDA and starts their associates programme in September so would love to train there, but it of course all hinges on if she can get in!!

Hi, I just have a question re Urdang and UCAS. It says on the website you apply through UCAS once you’ve accepted an offer after auditioning, does that mean that it will use up one of the five UCAS choices?

Yes, one of your UCAS choices

DD had an offer from Urdang. She accepted it via email to Urdang, but didn’t need to on UCAS at that point. If she’d done that then, as I understand it, it would have cancelled the other applications.
She then rejected it via email when she got another offer
Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
I would contact Urdang and double check how it works but I'm pretty sure in my DD's 1st year of auditioning that there were some you didn't have to put on UCAS before auditioning and I think it didn't matter if your 5 spaces were taken but I can't completely remember how it worked.

We are going also, so hopefully all will be explained.sailorgirluae wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 8:55 amWe are going to an Urdang open morning on the 7 Oct. I’ll ask then.
Re: Auditioning for 2024 entry
Auditions can be after the UCAS deadline but for places such as Urdang you need to apply via UCAS. Other places such as Mountview you would apply directly. It’s a bit of a minefield working all the different application routes, audition requirements and funding costs!
Good lunch to everyone for the journey ahead. I’ve got one auditioning for degree and another for 6th forms so stressful times ahead.

Thanks for all the replies! I have emailed Urdang and it is one of the five UCAS options and you apply through both UCAS and Urdang direct before the audition. I've seen that they have now changed the application webpage this morning to make this clearer and updated their stepwise list to make UCAS earlier in the process. Hope this is helpful to anyone else!

Glad you found out and that they're updating their website to make it clearer. I am incredibly thankful to not have to be joining this thread this year, I waited patiently for our turn and then was on it for 3 years! Daughter is now on degree at Rose Bruford. Good luck to all of you still on this journey.
