Out of nosiness (my DD didn't make the final call back!) - did this workshop actually happen over the summer?

Re: Nativity! workshop

No luck for us. So difficult for them to get 2x groups of 5 which presumably have to include the full range of ages.

Re: Nativity! workshop

And there was me thinking Netflix had every film ever made on it........There goes Saturday film night. It's on iTunes so we have done that.

I would rather not give any details about my performer - I prefer to stay anonymous :)

Re: Nativity! workshop

I agree Dwaffamily- we have always said to DD that as long as she comes out feeling she has given a good show of herself then that's the main thing- if her face doesn't fit or whatever then hey ho, it's been an afternoon outing! And re the back flips etc there was a girl limbering up in our waiting ...

Re: Nativity! workshop

Mouskouri is she good when she has a script? We just wrote something out and learned it like it was someone else talking which took any awkwardness factor away (my DD takes a while to warm up to strangers of you know what I mean!)-maybe something to think about for next time?

Re: Nativity! workshop

Well it was a an interesting experience! Thee was a wide range of ages in DD's group from about 6 or so up to 12/13 which I'm sure was intimidating for the younger ones. They all went in together and performed in front of each other and the panel of 5/6 people. They were told they would "hear h...

Re: Nativity! workshop

On the monologue we've gone for a very basic "my name is....I live......I've got x siblings.......my mum and dad are......I recently went on holiday to........" with a couple of bits of humor along the way (hopefully). If we're up against poetry then #-o ha ha ha!

Re: Nativity! workshop

Dwaffamily-our brief was to prepare a short monologue about yourself, do a verse/chorus of a song and a short dance "to our music". There are two "types" sought- quirky kids and "posher" kids but both must have like ability, cute factor and "make us laugh" and...

Re: Nativity! workshop

So lolalou it is a musical film of a film?? Or is it a theatre show based in a film? I'm all confused now and our agent is no help! Those that are going what do you make of the requirement to do a dance "to our music" - surely the type of dance will entirely depend on the bloomin music arr...

Re: Nativity! workshop

The details I have also says they are only looking for 10 children which would also indicate it is not a musical where they would need several teams of children
