Thinking of you and your family, and hoping he pulls through.
It's a near and dear subject, as we had a family member struck down with this earlier in the year. Only in her early twenties with a 5mth old baby. Very scary and shocking for us all at first. She has pulled through it though. It's going to be a long road to recovery, and she could get struck down again...which is the hardest part

She was very strong and determined...whilst we were all 'knocked for 6' with it all. For months it has left her with limited use of one arm and one leg (v similar to stroke victim). She had a stick and a mobility scooter...but none of this bothered her as she felt there were people a lot worse off than her (whilst we cried for her she fought it head on - a very courageous young lady). The only thing that really upset her was not being able to care/hold the baby

She is still not totally 100% fit and has good days and bad days with her mobility, but glad to be alive!
There can be light at the end of the tunnel, and i pray that you get a positive outcome for your loved one as well.
