Time off college?

Post by shortguy »

I have never been one for taking kids out of school etc for holidays but DD has asked if she can go with boyfriend and family for a week at the end of June. She will have finished her AS exams and then goes back for three weeks to start A2 one of which she wants to take off.

She has been working so hard towards the exams and we dont have a holiday booked ourselves yet so am inclined to let her go but just not sure its the right thing to do :? Any advice greatly appreciated [-o<

I think if the school will agree, that I'd be inclined to say "yes"! I'm sure a holiday will do her education more good than a week sitting chuntering about not being able to go! A break from studying might be just the pick-me-up she needs to allow her to go back to studying with renewed enthusiasm. You'll know best though!

That is rather my thinking PG but college will not give any time off for holidays and are adament they must come back after exams to start A2 so would have to phone her in sick or something

I would say let her go - on the provision that she has a friend get all the work for her and she catches up as soon as she gets back. That first week will be laid back anyway as it is so soon after exams.

i think you should let her go to. she will easily catch up if a friend gets the work for her.
