I'm guessing it would be for one of the extras. Each summer they use hundreds of extras you usually have to be over 12 years old. They use several agencies often North Weat based ones or theatre schools ones.

You have to be a member to get further details/apply through the casting website. Had a look this morning. It does seem to be for a main character or certainly someone who would be involved in a storyline. Could someone please pm me if they have any details on this.Do you think a cheeky Welsh chappy would fit in?

One way of tackling this is to watch the programme, make a note of the casting director and then write directly to the casting director expressing your interest. (if you google "Casting Director" plus the name of the programme, you can usually find out who it is ;) ) You can send your photo, CV and a covering letter at any time. Of course, you may well not get a response because casting directors are inundated with information from hopeful actors, but at least you don't have to pay for any information. If your face and CV fits and the CD is currently casting, there is no reason why you would not be considered for an audition if you seem suitable.

It's worth remembering that there are often many hundreds of applications/submissions and that CDs will only see a handful of people, so if you don't hear anything it doesn't mean that they won't have considered your application.

if you go to the main bbc site for the show you get this link, but it looks very generic

There are many cons out there, but I actually think zaryo.co.uk is genuine.
A friend of mine signed up for their service and received audition dates and locations to his cell phone.
So the service does work. If you have the will to succeed in this industry, every direction will help you!
Good Luck :D

Zaryo.co.uk may be "genuine" in that you get some information sent to your mobile phone but this will be audition information that is widely available elsewhere. The claims on the site are misleading. Indeed, I would go so far as to say they are nonsense:

"Want to attend auditions for the biggest theatre productions around? Sign up to Zaryo and you'll receive an invitation to every stage audition". Well of course you won't. This is not how the industry works and they must know this. I would therefore suggest that is unwise to trust a site that makes such ludicrous claims.

This will NOT be a casting information site used by most casting professionals. If you wish to pm me, I will explain why and I would also be happy to correspond with the owners/organisers of the site in defence of my statement.

Ron, could you tell us which auditions your friend heard about? I'd be very interested to know.

If you have the "will to succeed in this business" you will stay more solvent if you find out the most effective ways to spend your money. It will save you a lot of money and prevent you chasing down false alleys by learning about how the profession and the casting business really works. I don't agree that "every direction will help you". There are so many people out there desperate to take money from you.

Thanks pg, I'm so glad you post on here. I looked at the site and was tempted, but the fees were so well hidden i gave up!

I'm also a bit suspicious of posts on here supporting websites etc when they are from people who only just joined the NAPM site and its their first post, always seems a bit fortuitous for the website concerned that they have someone sticking up for them......or am I just becoming a hardenned cynic ( whoops, think the spelling is a bit off there).
