chaperoning your child when parent cant do it

My teenage DS has a couple of dates filming in London in October that neither myself nor my husband can chaperone due to prior work committments that cant be changed. Maybe the film dates will change (i`m hoping...) but how would this work if we cant be with him? Can we nominate a licensed chaperone that we know and trust or do we just take pot luck? Also we dont live in London. Would the chaperone need to be in the car that collects DS from home?? This could prove tricky. Has anyone else been in this situation?

This really should be up to the production company to sort out. Have you been in touch with them? I would have thought that it would be their responsibility to ensure that a licensed chaperone is available.

It depends you if you can find some one you trust you can ask if they can chaperon your ds for you. Some times companys have there own chaperons but Im sure if hyou would like some one you no do it then as long as they are licenced then that should be ok. When one son was working and the other one got something I could not chaperon one of them got some one I knew to do it for me. Hope that helps

Your county council will probably have list of chaperones but it should be the production company who sorts it out. I usually chaperone my own kids but have several friends who are also chaperones like me. The chaperone's name has to be on the licence for a child who is still at school (up to age 16). If the chaperone changes you can just telephone the council to re-issue the licence document. Best of luck and well done to your ds .

Wow, I had no idea. Is that for anything, film,commercial etc?

if you do want a grandparent to chaperone, talk to the local authority about getting them licenced (they would have to be licenced by the local authority they live in, not yours)

I was in this posistion and her agency supplied one,may have just been lucky-I wanted my mum to do it,but they wouldn't allow it as no license-ridiculous when she was only child in building...
