HELP! Monologues
Hey guys, I've got an audition for the NYTW in a week's time and I still don't have two contrasting monologues! If you could suggest some I would be eternally grateful.

Re: HELP! Monologues
How old are you and what accent do you have? Cos it's usually best to find a monologue which works for your age group and accent. Also by 2 contrasting monologues do you mean one comedy and one dramatic for example, or does one have to be modern and one classical?
Re: HELP! Monologues
Contrast can mean 2 speeches whish are different in any way - classical/modern, comedy/tragedy, light/dark etc.
Use your own accent. read the whole play so you really know where it fits, wht the cahracters are about etc. Choose someone you can relate to in some way if you can. Good luck!!

Details - I'm 16 years old and female. I have a Welsh accent but can do others. They prefer people not to do classical stuff.
Re: HELP! Monologues
Have you looked at |Ed Thomas plays? My Dd (also Welsh) did ones from his plays for NYT and Drama school

You could try a Gail speech from the play 'Teechers'. She's supposed to be Northen but I think it cold work with any accent really. Good luck!
