Agents

Post by tassiebabe »

Hi!
My DD has been accepted into Allsorts, Bizzykidz, Chilli Kids, Daniel Brown Agency and Bonnie and Betty Agency. But we don't know which one to choose.
Can anyone give advice on which on is the most suitable if she wants to be an actress and which one has the best reputation?
Thank you!

How lovely to be spoiled for choice!

Personal (possibly contentious!) viewpoint coming up! ;)

Personally, I would reject any that have not auditioned your daughter (or seen her in a show or a showreel) if she wants to be considered for acting work. It's impossible to tell what acting roles she would be suitable for if they have not seen her perform and impossible to know how she comes across in an interview/casting if they have not interviewed her themselves. I would also ask them about their other clients and what they have done (see whether they are regularly seen for acting roles, rather than modelling). Find out how many children they have on their books and how many agents look after them. Personally, I would also reject any agency that charged a fee. There's not much incentive to help you find work (which is a difficult thing to do) if they can get more money just by taking on more clients (which is an easy thing to do).

I don't have direct experience of any of them I'm afraid, so can't comment specifically.

There are two different agencies called Allsorts.
