Aparently Tom Chambers and Summer Strallen are in rehearsal for Top Hat on stage (I remember it as an old Fred Astaire/Ginegr Rogers musical). However, don't know when or where this will be. Could be a great show for dancing though and some lovely songs
The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive.
It's still a 3-3 and half hour journey each way - not nice after evening performance, and hotel just adds to expense. Will have to see if there are any trips arranged from round here.

Was really hoping to see this at the Lowry so could have seen yourdd's friend but it is dd's birthday round about then and her call on an outing/birthday treat and she doesn't want it to be this
He could go and he could shine, not just stay here counting time,
Son, we've got the chance to let him live
Did anyone actually go and see Top Hat on stage? I am trying to organise a birthday party in the next couple of months...perhaps I should wait until the reviews come out?
I am particularly interested if anyone saw it along with Singin in the Rain, and could tell me which they thought would be better for a 10 year old's birthday? I have found a few pictures online and some information but the web doesn't have too many people who have seen it! http://www.cheaptheatretickets.com/top-hat/
I've seeen it twice, and throughly enjoyed it. Slightly biaised as friend's daughter is in it. Lots of dancing especially tap. There is a facebook page and the link below has more clips etc on it. Haven't seen singing in the rain so can't compare.
