i do believe i mentioned that it was in woking and not the west end, i simply enquired if anybody else was going to this, i know a lot of children do a lot more impressive things but for my ds this is actually quite exciting.

We saw the professional tour last year in Nottingham. Have to say it was the worst musical i've ever seen..drawn out with terrible american accents. Which is sad because the film was a classic. I dont know what was wrong with a British story. Anyway despite all this i remember thinking what good parts they were for kids...they featured in nearly every scene. The kids got a much bigger applause than the adults. So good luck to your children who audition....if it were mine i'd maybe have enjoyed it more!

good luck to your ds sophiesocks. some am dram stuff ive seen is better than the professional shows. living in scotland we get very little oppertunity if it wasnt for am dram my dd wouldnt get to peform at all.

I think the reason bakes28 mentioned it was amateur and not professional wasn't to look down on amateur theatre in anyway (as it is brilliant experience and is what made me want to act as a pro) but just to point it out to parents who were thinking of letting their children audition as it may be impractical to do so if they live far away etc

Hi, that is exactly what I meant. As it's amateur there will be no money involved etc so you wouldn't get covered for any expenses and if you're planning on coming from a long way away it could be expensive (I know money is not everyone's priority when it's their kids on stage etc.

If my dd wasn't currently doing something she would audition for it as it is centered around children. I was simply pointing out that it wasn't the UK tour and I didn't meant offend anyone in the slightest and am shocked that some of you took it that way.
