Hi Tilly! Well done for getting an audition. Try to find something modern appropriate to your age. If you haven't got a lot of time to reads loads of plays, then you could get a book of monologues aimed at teenagers or you might find that you can cut and paste some bits of dialogue from a novel that has teenagers in it. Keep it short so that you can make the most of the moments where you don't speak, if you see what I mean. Quite often, if you're not used to finding and timing monologues, there can be a tendency to time them by muttering them under your breath at too fast a speed. You need to time it by saying it out loud, in performance mode, and giving yourself a chance to vary the pace within it. You need to deliver it at conversational speed and keep it as natural as possible, but don't be afraid of pauses. Best of luck!

hi everyone, well done to everyone who got in!

i was thinking about applying for abacus, but im guessing im too late to apply for this round of auditions obviously.

i looked on the website and it says that they open their books around january and july, so even though it is extremely early do you think i should apply to them now in advance for july?
