summer courses

Post by westendkid »

Does anyone know of any good musical theatre summer courses? I've been looking into a few, was just wondering if anyone could recommend any.

Many Thanks! :)

Depends what age group and if you are looking for a dance-based course or more singing/acting and whether you want central London or are willing to travel further afield. My girls have done several over the years but it does vary depending on these things.
And all that jazz...!

I've signed my dd up for the Sylvia Young summer school, though she is too young for the musical theatre so she is just doing the theatre week in August. She has never been before so we hope she has a good time. She has only done stagecoach summer schools before.

Thank you for your replies!

Hi GypsyMumNot! - I am willing to travel into Central London and am looking for a slightly older age group. Preferably 16+. I am interested in a course that focuses upon all three things, if possible. Thanks :)

Then my advice would be somewhere like Urdang or Arts Ed, but not SYTS - think you may find that a little young. Also - Laines in Epsom is brilliant and maybe look at Conti's. I have also heard that Performers in Essex and Bird's in Kent are excellent, but may be a little too far to travel? But having said that - most if not all of these colleges provide accommodation if you need it. My eldest did Laines 2 years running - stayed in a house with other students and had a ball! Show was fantastic too! Highly recommend Laines if you don't mind staying away from home - pricey tho..... :-k
