The other child casting
Hi guys :)
Just wondering did anyone else get asked to send in a video for a TV film called The Other Child? I was just wondering cos it's another one like the Sally Potter casting where you have to film a scene at home (and also an improvisation) and i don't think I'm very good at those, so was just wondering if anyone else who's going for this has any tips?! Good luck for anyone else going!

Re: The other child casting
Hi guys, loads of people have PMd me but I'm afraid I really don't know much about it because I got the audition through my agent. The breakdown made it sound like they would take auditions from people without agents but my agent didn't send me any of the contact details. All I know is that you have to send the audition to this youtube user: castingfleischhacker
And the role I'm auditioning for is Young Fiona, playing age of 16, actress must be between 16-19 years old.
Hope that helps, sorry I don't have any more info!

Fiona is joined on the farm by a young autistic boy, Brian Sommerville, who has been orphaned in the bombing of London. Forming a strong emotional attachment to Fiona, Brian is seen as little more than irritant by Fiona and Chad as their love blossoms, but is cared for by Mrs Beckett until her death through illness. With Chad finally being drafted to fight abroad, and Fiona briefly at home in London visiting her Mother, Brian is allowed to leave the relative safety of the farm to live, and work, in squalor at a neighbouring farm owned by a notoriously abusive and uncaring McBright. When events in the modern day threaten to have far reaching consequences for their children - Old Fiona and Chad are thrown together again. After her divorce child psychologist Leslie Kramer, is looking forward to spending a few days at her grandmother’s flat in Scarborough to clear her mind. Right after Leslie arrives in the quiet, northern English coastal resort a student is found brutally murdered. A few days later there is another murder: Leslie’s grandmother Fiona is found dead after a violent argument about the forthcoming marriage of Leslie’s childhood friend Gwen. Despite certain similarities between the crimes, it seems impossible to establish a link between the two murders. The ambitious police inspector Valerie Almond can’t make any headway in the case until Leslie discovers something about her dead grandmother. Gwen’s father Chad and Fiona had been keeping a terrible secret for many years, ever since Fiona came to live with Chad’s family when she was evacuated from London as a child during the Second World War. And when she digs deeper, Leslie makes a cruel discovery – revolving around a traumatised child who mysteriously disappeared during the confusion of the Blitz.

Re: The other child casting
Hi
My dd auditioned for Fiona aged 12 for this. We got a call back and at the same call back were other actors for other parts. Among them Fiona aged 16. I got the impression, could be wrong, that Fiona aged 16 was also at call back stage. I can only assume that either nobody at the call back was offered the part or else they offered it to someone who turned it down and they have now decided to open it to auditions again. Filming, I believe, starts on May 16th so they will be looking to fill the part quickly I expect.
