Re: Agency photo's Abacus
I have managed to get away with not paying for a single headshot to date! I find it really easy to find TF photographers and then if you show them examples of good headshots they will do them for you

Re: Agency photo's Abacus
It was not that my dd looks older or younger than the photo it just doesn't look like her. The familial resemblance might be there but my dh described it as being (if we had any) like a distant plain cousin twice removed.
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
Good to hear it often takes a while for things to start happening...it all feels like a bit of an anti-climax now after the initial excitement and telling people DD got in! Been worrying that it might all come to nothing!

Re: Agency photo's Abacus
I'm with you there Fudge 97. In our case the silence is deafening !

Re: Agency photo's Abacus
very quite at moment Abacus will only put u forward for things that u are sutable for better to wait and go yup for some thing yr dc is more likly to get than just go up for casting for the sake of it. Abacus are not going to send yr dc for a casting if they are sutable of getting it so dont worry too much, how old are yr dc girls do not get as many casting as boys and between 13 - not too much about as cd usaly use 16 year old who look younger as they do not need to licence.
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
Thanks Irishdancer, My dd is coming up for 16. I didn't really expect to hear anything until she was out of licence anyway. Also her gcse's start any minute. A nice little job for the summer holiday would be nice though, we live in hope !
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
I agree that it feels a bit of an anti-climax!!! We joined afew months ago, and like others have said, the silence is indeed deafening!!! Sure it will pick up tho! My dd is 9.
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
Hi Eldon
How many months ago did you join? Have you had no castings/auditions at all? My dd is the same age.
Thanks

Its been very quite for the last 6 months by this time last year ds had done 2 adverts quite a few auditions a short film and a little part in a TV show but so far this year nothing
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
it does seem very quiet at the moment doesn't it! i wonder why? hope it picks up soon,my ds is very eager for another role x
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
Does anybody know if spotlight is up and running yet for the newbies? Will we be a given a link at some point so we can have a nosey at which pictures they chose?
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
hi fudge97, I spoke to the lady from Abacus yesterday, and she said that my dd's weren't up on spotlight yet, but I think some of them are. She said it would probably take a bit longer for my dd's to appear, as she was going from child to young performer, but when they had done it they would email me, so I could see it.
Re: Agency photo's Abacus
Ah, ok thanks Coco, hopefully they will do the same once ours is done too
