AGENTS IN THE BRISTOL/CARDIFF AREA/SOUTH WEST

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good acting agent in the south west?

Mark Jermin are the main one which covers this area. Most things that film around Bristol and Cardiff use MJ students if they need featured extras etc.

Really!!!, just not keen when an agency is attached to a stage school like Mark Jermin, and they don't seem to be very popular with many napms on here.

Don't rule them out. My DD has friends who have been with MJ for years and had great success.

I appreciated alot of NAMP's have had bad experiences with MJ but I can only speak for myself. DD has had loads of castings and now has a really good cv with loads of professional work both in musical theatre and tv and she is still only 13, so MJ has been perfect for her development and she has gained so much from being with MJ, even performed in the West End. So I would definately give them a chance.

Thank you for taking the time to reply bruno 2, jomist, Welsh Mum, Selina 2. I really appreciate your input. Ds is not interested in Musical theatre, although he dances his passion is drama, done some short films and told me though he enjoys it when he is on stage he much prefers to do tv and film work.

Musical Theatre is ok if your dd/ds is under 4ft 10 but if he is over well then its definately tv for now ! Good luck

We are in the SW and we haven't found any local agents. People use MJ, but its not really local as they are in Wales and London.

DS was with MJ for a year but it was a waste of time. Not saying it was MJs fault if they didn't get castings that suited him BUT they do run their own drama classes so it would seem logical to use kids they see every week rather than kids from further afield. They asked if I could 'find' a London address I could use as they thought it would help get castings! I personnally found them rather arrogant, rude and unhelpful....but others love them!

There are some top agencies with offices in Wales e.g Regan Rimmer and Emptage Hallet but they don't specialise in children like MJ.

Big Talent school and agency in Cardiff are attached to Regan and Rimmer. Big Talent is for children..... we are with them and they are very good
