Kelly management new auditions

Post by borntoshine »

I am thinking of applying for the kelly management auditions and as you may know you now have to send them in by tape. I was wondering, in some scripts you have to act to the other charcter e.g. kiss them, what should I do? should I just leave this out completely or pretend to? also should i stay completely still in the audition or move about?

I think that if your audition is a video audition that you should adapt your script as much as you can for this format. It won't really matter to the agency if you change the script.
You really need to be in reasonable close up for most of it, so don't move your body around, unless you are getting someone else to film it for you and you are planning to edit bits together. This doesn't mean you have to be as still as a statue, it just means you need to know what will appear in the frame and how much lee-way you have to move. If you are delivering it to camera and you have set it up as a medium close-up, then it still gives you plenty of room to behave naturally as you speak and move within the frame as the mood takes you.

The ideal is to give the impression that there really is someone there you are talking to but they are just not in shot (obviously, miming kissing someone will destroy this illusion completely).
