lemon casting
Has anyone had any experiences with Lemon casting, they want people for their Bristol branch and I was thinking of joining. But I got an email saying they take 20 percent commission from every job you get with them. That sounds a lot. What do you think?

Re: lemon casting
I have never actually come across anyone from Lemon at castings or jobs, However I have had a few conversations with CDs where Lemon in Manchester has been discussed. All positive, BUT my understanding was that it was used by 'these CDs' at least in regards to getting child EXTRAS, TV show contestants & background artists,,,

20% for TV work,Film, Commercials etc seems the norm to me..( for featured work , Im afraid I really dont know about extra rates)

Re: lemon casting
Thanks for the info, just emailed them about being an extra.
Had a quick look at their site and I think they are mainly an 'extras' agency, not sure if they do any acting parts. Would suit me as I'm not into acting...unlike my DS who would live, eat and sleep in front of camera!
There is also Phoenix in Bristol, but their books aren't open til next year.

Re: lemon casting
I have became interested in becoming an extra and trawled the internet to find reputable agencies before applying. Im in the North West and came accross the company Lemon casting and even googled mapped their premises which is on a large plot, housing various production studios. I sent an email and received a reply to contanct the relevant section , which I did and made an appointment for the following week ( as they are currently taking on new models / extas .). I was told that on arrival I will need to complete a registration form and come dressed either casually or in a suit for photographs to be taken. I looked at their terms of conditions and they looked ok . I was a bit wary as they take a £40 registration fee although costs can be deducted from your first earnings. I intend to go next week and if everything seems ok I will join ( provided they want me). What makes me more confident that their a reputable company, is from scanning the web I came accross and arcticle in the Lancashire Telegrapth ( march 2011) which was about on a local man who had had a sucession of parts on tv at the age of 68 and he started with Lemon Casting.
I hope this may be of help

Good luck Chad.
I've just signed up with Phoenix, they take the registration fee out of your first job, so no job , no fee!
