funding for vocational school
Hi I'm new to this sort of thing! Wondered if anyone could advise me on where I might obtain funding/sponsorship for my daughter 12 yrs old - she has been offered a place at vocational school for September 2012 but no MDS- She has worked so hard and loves dancing so it would be heartbreaking if she couldn't go. Does anyone have experience of being in this situation?

Re: funding for vocational school
I really feel for you so much
My DS was offered a full-time place at a performing arts school after audition this year. He was fortunate in that he was offered 25% scholarship funding, but we still could not run to that in any way.
We explored other funding, educational and local business sponsorship, and whilst some people were very generous, it only tickled the surface.
It has been hard for him seeing other children on the TV as this school was featured on TV this year, especially when he knows he can outsing and dance many of them, but they can afford to go there and he cannot !
It's a hard - knock life sometimes
Have you approached local business , especially those that are doing well, we have a local government initiative /charity in this area that gives grants albeit fairly small amounts to gifted and talented children. DS has had a couple of grants towards shoes and travel costs amounting to about £400...maybe there is something similar in your area?
others might know more?
I really hope she gets to go.....
