Moving To london

ive been thinking of moving to london.

ive had a few meeting with agents and they all said i had little expereince and i need to do more stuff.

i live in north essex and its quite far from london,

so i thought if i move to london i can start doing more workshops and short film ect?

Can't you look for stuff more local to you in Essex? Look on sites like mandy and talent circle casting call pro all free and if some opportunities are in london filming may be only for a few hours to easy to commute. Is there no theatre workshop based near you?

No i live in a little village and i still have to travel 40 minutes to get the the town centre! such a nightmare.

can you afford to live in london? - that's the main question
if you can afford it and you truly want to and I guess you are old enough ? lol
then why not?
I lived and trained in london for years and they were the best of times, but I had accommodation from the hospital to start with, if you don't have friends and support there, it's a lonley old business .
What do your parents think?

i should be able to afford it, yeah im 18. they think its a good idea and if its what i want they will support me.

well if you were my daughter I would say yes, try it and see how it goes, there are more opportunities you can get to easily, and all sorts of work-shop oportunities ,classes etc

Go for it!

Everyone should spend some time living in London. If you think its a good idea it probably is and, right now, I guess there isn't anyone else who doesn't eat if you don't feed them. You'll have plenty of years ahead of you when responsibilities and paying the mortgage get in the way of following your dreams, so make the most of it while you can. Lets hope your dreams become your reality.

Just keep enough credit on your phone to call your folks and enough money in your pocket to buy a ticket home.

Whether people like it or not, unfortunately London is the best place to be when you’re starting out. And it can be a great place to live, I've learned to love it. Get yourself on Casting Call Pro and try to get as much experience as you can. Are you thinking about applying to Drama School?

My DD moved from a small village to go to drama school in ondon and loves it there. However, if you are not going to something like drama college or a job you may find it hard to make friends (unless of course you have some who live there already). Just though I should point that out - my DD knew no one there, but obviuosly has made lots of friends on her course. You can also get to see lots of theatre in London - day tickets etc.
