Sylvia young audition process

Post by Ooopnorth »

Hello,

First post so please be kind!

We are thinking of allowing DD to audition for full time school at Sylvia Young. We live up north so this would be a very big change for us, she has been to the holiday school there and intends to do Saturday school for a term or two until she can audition and to get a feel for it and see if she really is cut out for it.
Does anyone know how tough the audition process is and how many they have applying? We would be auditioning for a paying place- not scholarship, into year 7.

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated. I know we can speak to the school about all this but I would like to get first hand opinions too, just so we know what we are letting ourselves in for.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Oopnorth

I cant help with your query, but just wanted to say welcome and that the NAPMs have always been very kind to me - so you're among friends here.

Good luck with your DDs audition. And I'm loving your 'screen name'

GO for it...it is a wonderful school..dd spent 6 very happy years there...left last year as they do not have a 6th form..she is now at college.
Auditions were ok...dancing, singing, acting, and academic tests....then recalls if succesful for more acting, singing, acting and further academic tests...

I would definitely go for it...brilliant place to train..xx good luck xx :D
I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.......
