MAY DAY BBC DRAMA

Post by Jeanie »

Anyone heard anything about the casting process? My DD had a casting and a recall for a six year old character. The CD was lovely and gave her some great feedback but now it's all quiet. Her agent said there was another casting last week for that role and others and wondered if they'd changed the ethnicity from mixed race to white.

I know I should forget about these things but I always get so excited after a recall!

On the first page of napm there is a section at the bottom with audition. I found this very interesting on what to expect from audition maybe have a read.

I know that some children from a local Stagecoach have been approached for this production, but not sure if it is for any specific role etc. All I know is it involves 1 day of filming :D

slightly embarrassed that I am admitting to such an obvious case of eavesdropping but.......

here goes!

my son goes to drama/dance/singing classes on Sunday and as I was waiting to pick him up a lady further up in the queue was talking to the teacher about May Day and that her 5 yr old DD had been cast at the end of the last week. It was between her daughter and a apparently "beautiful" child but her daughter got it because she just chatted away to the director while the other was very quiet.

Not sure if there is any pertinent information amongst that apart from that her 5 yr old was cast on Friday.

..... and then I stopped eavesdropping!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all of the updates. I think the series is going to be great. A pity my DD get a role but she had fun at the callbacks and we don't have to cancel a family holiday!

Best of luck to eveyone involved in it.
