Top Talent - August Auditions

Post by charliesmummy »

Hi

I had an email this week inviting my daughters to the top talent august audition, am really pleased as have only sent off a couple of applications to agents so far. Can anyone give me any advice on what to expect on the day? How long until they give you a decision? Does anybody have top talent as their agent/are they very good? Sorry - loads of questions, any advice appreciated

If you go to viewtopic.php?f=13&t=16508 you'll find a thread about them which probably has most of the info you need.

Good luck - both of my girls signed with Top Talent at their last round. They have had a couple of castings but no work through them yet, although - to be fair - both of them have had so much work on over the past few months it would have been hard to fit any more in

Top Talent is a brilliant agency and fast becoming one of the best for children, I think. Both my children are with them and my daughter (8) has been in Les Mis and my son (10) is currently performing in Ragtime in Regents Park Open Air theatre. Good luck with the audition!

Just popping in from our holiday in Spain (very sunny, 40 degrees ++ tough gig huh? :D ) to let you know that Top Talent's next round of auditions (for kids from 3 upwards, based anywhere in the UK) are taking place on 19 August in Hertfordshire and on 21 August in the West End (at The Dominion Theatre).

The auditions are informal drama workshops - there is nothing to prepare. Flo and Pandy really enjoyed them when they went along earlier this year.

For under 3s there'll be a “Babies Meet & Greet Day” in September.

If your DCs or DBs (darling babies!) are interested in repesentation you'll need to contact Warren Bacci on 01727 855903 or via admin@toptalentagency.co.uk

Hope this is helpful - good luck if you decide to go along and don't forget to let us know how you get on.

Can I go back to the pool now, please? 8)

Had a look at Top Talent's website. They say they only take on really top talent (forgive pun), they say they like their children to attend acting classes(fair enough) but then they say they also represent children who have that 'raw' natural talent that many CD's so desperately want. So does that mean casting directors often favour kids who've had zero training in acting and will overlook the trained ones? Anyone know? I'm intrigued...

You'll know this already but this is for the benefit of anyone reading this who is new to the industry.

There is obviously a call/niche in the industry for kids and adults who have never acted before, directors looking for someone totally natural and raw. There are some cds that specialise in this and do street castings. I'm pressuming Warren is looking for someone with that special something that fits in with this idea.

Is anyone going on the 19th for the 4:30 auditions? That's when my dd will be there, I think that's the slot for the slightly older ones :)

Does anyone have any experience with this agency with older children/young adults? I've heard good things about them r.e. youngsters, but I'm not sure how good they are as a more adult agency.
