Restrictions for unlicensed performers

My council uses the 4 day rule for child performance licenses so as long as a role is unpaid and there is no time off school they don't have to be licensed if they haven't done more than 4 days in the previous 6 months. However, I wondered if there was still a restriction in hours. I believe currently children 13-16 have to be out of the theatre by 10.30 when licensed but would that still apply to someone unlicensed. Common sense says it should but there is no common sense in the current rules.

Yes. The local authorities I have dealt with have been quite strict on that. One LA regularly inspects dance school and amateur shows where the 4 dAy licence free rule is being used

I know nothing! but this has made me wonder about dd's dance show. Every July her dance school puts on a show which has 4 evening performances. The children aren't licenced, so presumably this fits with the 4 days rule that's been mentioned. However I'm wondering about the other performances dd has done this year and whether this then means she needs a licence. She did a 3 night performance in March with a licence (missed 1 day off school for rehearsal) and another 1 off performance in April (whcih she didn't need a licence for). So she's done exactly 4 performances in the previous 6 months. I'd like to avoid hassle but wouldn't want her dance school to get into trouble if they didn't follow the right procedure.
Any ideas?

I don't know anything about the 4 day rule, but my DD is doing a one day show (in November!) with her theatre school (a matinee and evening performance, which none of the children need licenses for). The leader of the stage school has asked me to keep her posted about any work DD does in the 6 months prior, as it is quite likely that she WILL need to be licensed. DD has done two shows (one West End - 6 month contract, one tour- one week) which she had to be licensed for in the last year, and has just signed with an agency so hopefully will be getting more work. I am fully expecting to have to get a license for my DD for this show. Hope this helps
