Castings

Post by new at this »

I found out today that I could post castings that my ds's agency emails me about on here so I am :D

I received the first one on 31st May so this one might be filled but:

"We are looking for an actress aged 16-20 years old, good at comedy, larger than life personality. Dress size 14 plus please"

Second one was on 11th June:

"We are searching for a black actress aged 10 to 13 years for a popular norther children's TV series and also a black actor aged 10 to 14. Actors must be available 18th June to early September"

And the third one was on 13th June:

"A boy aged 3 to 4 years for a popular television soap, white boy aged 3, possibly a small 4 but no older or younger. Close to Manchester"

If you are interested in any of these you should email kids@screammanagement.com with a recent photo, date of birth and contact details.

Good luck!

this is probably a really obvious question but do you have to be from this agency to apply for these castings? because i am on a different agency but would be perfect for one!

I think if you replied to one it would be with a view to representing you, that's the way I would read them.

hi Jellybabies. If you are already represented, I think you can be fairly sure that your agent will already be aware of these breakdowns! All you need to do is contact your agent to check that they have submitted you .

This information is obviously useful if you are not currently represented. I can see why the agency is happy for this information to be available, as presumably they will only release breakdowns where they do not already have suitable clients to submit. If they release breakdowns where they already have suitable clients on their books - well, I'd be pretty miffed if I were that suitable client!

I'm a bit surprised that they are allowed to, to be honest. Most people that subscribe to any kind of casting breakdown service have to sign something to say that they won't share the information (because obviously the casting information service want people to pay for it!). Perhaps it's different for agents (and I know they are not actually releasing the details of what it is for or who is casting it) - though I think they are possibly bending the rules a bit.
