Ideas for A Level Theatre Studies devised piece?

This term at school we start to work on our devised piece for our A Level. I was just wondering if anyone would mind sharing what their DS/DD based theirs on, or what themes they did? Thanks!!

SOOOOO glad DD doesn't have to do this again this year ... although to be honest I think she found it easier to do than the extract for AS level. It took them ages to decide on a play to do

DD did a documentary theatre piece about rape, particularly focusing on public attitudes ... there was lots of stuff in the media this time last year around that theme which gave them some good points to focus on. Very much a more gritty Mark Wheeler type piece aimed at Yr 10 and up. She was in a group with one other boy and another girl so lots of multiroleing. They did really well and all got very high Band 1. They were torn between doing this topic and something about self-harming but were swung by the fact that it was such a hot topic this time last year.

You could also try searching YouTube for some ideas and inspiration. DD found a really good physical theatre devised and would have loved to have tried something like that but no-one else in her group was confident enough

We did ours on the child migration scheme, we were first given a photo as a stimulus then research and devised from that. It ended up being a very emotional, interesting and insightful piece. Something that many people I'm sure aren't aware of.

I did mine by basing it on the short story 'The Yellow Wallpaper', and used physical theatre (so we werent just making a story into a play, it was more like an influence). Maybe look at some Angela Carter short stories.
