Why can't CDs let us know?

I know we have discussed this topic before. I think the view was (reluctantly) that it was too time consuming for the CDs to inform the actors. However, now they're all on Twitter and/or Casting Network, couldn't they just tweet: "castings confirmed", "recalls have been sent out", "on pencil candidates have been informed", "this TVC etc has been cast"? Then us parents wouldn't be left hanging and sometimes holding dates when decisions have already been made.

What do you think?

I agree. It would be great but, as sophiesocks says, I doubt it will happen. For TV commercials I really don't think there is any chance this will happen but for other things the CD does sometimes let agents know one way or the other.

Hard as it is, the only thing to do is go to the audition and then try to forget it. I always assume I haven't got the commercials (and I'm almost always right ). If you have something coming up that clashes with the shoot date, then is the time to ask your agent to find out whether decisions have been made.

I completely agree with you on that one! On Spotlight, they can see a selection of photos and quite often a showreel as well. Surely they could narrow it down a bit!

some commercial auditions do pay a small fee - i have no idea how this could be enforced, but i wish they all had to - at least we'd get our travel costs covered - master p saves his surplus towards concert tickets, which keeps him happier!
