Re: Desperate to perform at Edinburgh Festival
Hi Virginiawoolf
It's a tricky one. Some Edinburgh festival opportunities are advertised on Casting Call Pro (though not many). The difficulty is that there is no central place to see opportunities as each individual company makes its own arrangements. A lot of companies are already well in to rehearsal I think.
The only certain way to get to perform there is to organise something yourself (not for the faint-hearted!).
Most Fringe festivals are run along the same lines; i.e. the companies apply to the Festival - the festival won't have anything to do with casting. So i think it's more a case of finding companies who regularly go to the Fringe and asking to be kept informed of any opportunities.
I don't know whether the 24/7 festival in Manchester has cast all of its shows yet. You can subscribe to their newsletter for casting details. These are all profit-share type shows.
