Hi there
I have happily voted for Linden.
I have voted for lots of gorgeous kiddies in the kinder comp in recent years and know there is no harm in filling in the voting page. You don't even need to fill in your full address if you are worried. And i have verified my vote for Linden via email, i have never had any junk emails from them as a result of voting in the past.
Good Luck and hope to see him and my grandaughter Izzie in the final next month xx

This forum is populated by nice people, doing all they can to make sure their kids get the best chances in a difficult industry. We have people posting sound files so we can hear the kids singing and comment of we wish, we talk about where to get the best head shots, how to get decent agents and all manner of ways to improve their performance to get a better shot at making a living.

I just can't see the point of these competitions where you vote for a face? Just think what we'd end up with if MPs were selected like this. Poor Anne Widdicombe would never have got in, would she?

The face of Kinder is, in my humble view, a sham. Just an excuse to get the word Kinder onto all sorts of search engines and daily papers as brand awareness. At the end of the day, how is the winner picked? A pretty face, a cute one, a funny one, a racially balanced one? We have no idea. The entire point is they want people to use forums and Facebook to generate free publicity. The child who wins is basically a lottery. Let's face it, somebody will sit in an office and just grab one from a pile, and if they're a bit ugly, pop it back in and pick another until they find one that will do.

There's no skill, effort or communication involved, and I feel it's a bit degrading. The kids who get through feel they are special somehow, and frankly, they're not.

It's like the glamorous granny competitions and Miss Butlins we used to have years ago. Not remotely fair, but good fun. I don't have a problem with the idea for what it is - but this place is full of people who do care - deeply, so this kind of vote for a stranger isn't a vote for how good they are, it's a vote for somebody else's family or friend. The people asked yesterday who did vote can't really vote again because it makes their first vote morally invalid. If you vote for A, you can't really also vote for B - because it cancels out, doesn't it. Also one person voting for two people is also wrong, as would be one person voting for somebody multiple times. If you have 1000 facebook friends, is that unfair to the person who only has 100?

I've no issue with the rubbish TV talent shows, because the public do at least vote for their favourite (even if they're hopeless). If they put each person picture in the paper or on a website, Susan Boyle wouldn't have collected many votes would she?

There will be 50 finalists from the voting stage. So i don't feel by voting for other cuties that i have cancelled out any of my other votes.
A panel of judges will pick the 6 final winners based purely on what their 'quote' is - in the last kinder comp i found out that the judging panel don't even get to see the 50 finalists pictures and that's why they ended up with one girl and 5 boys. They are definitely having 3 girls and 3 boys this year so i guess they will seperate the 2 groups before the judging stage. But all 50 will win a prize.
All these voting comps are all to do with publicity, never about the talent of the entrants, doubt they will ever be banned.
Like the lottery, in-it-to-win-it. :D
