DS has a recall
It's a high high mountain to climb but we are so pleased for him as this is not MT and he is out of his comfort zone.
Feel very disappointed for those not recalled . Especially the girls as although there were plenty of boys, there were way more girls and competition even more intense.
Might see you SNN.. =D>

And a massive well done to your DS Riverdancefan, and he must have nailed his monologue first time!

I haven't told my DD yet, I'm choosing my moment. She is going to be absolutely gutted as she felt her audition had gone brilliantly. Ah well, what can you do eh? But I am starting to think that I' not cut out for this! xxx

you will get many times like this Lord KNows I get them on a regular basis and it doesn't get easier when you have to tell them and see the utter disappointment..

You are a wonderful Mum who is doing all she can to support and encourage your DD, allow yourself some time to just gather the thoughts and regroup as it were. It does get to us, and sometimes harder than others.

It's not bad to feel sad, it's ok to feel flipping peed off !!

We all understand on here, sound off if you need to!

There have been times when things have gone so well for DS and he is cut at the first round , I have gone over and over in my mind why,(and will always do probably) but I am trying so hard not to at the moment..so many variables that are out of our control.
PM if you ever need a rant, as believe me I understand!

Aww thanks Riverdancefan....and Sorry I do not mean to put a downer on your DS or SNN's great news. I always enjoy your posts and am truly happy for the talented bunch who have been invited back for the first set of recalls. And in my case, there is always a silver lining....In this instance the cost of travel for us to rehearsals would have cost us about £20 per week, and we would have found it but haven't really got it. Also the performances clash with my DD's French Trip and we would have lost the £100 deposit. Plus she does do a lot already... See, I'm feeling better already lol.

It is an amazing opportunity and I think it was great that every child got a chance to audition. Fingers crossed for those invited to the recalls, and please, please keep us all posted. You know we're rooting for you! xxx

Great news SNN and Riverdancefan - well done! I really look forward to hearing about the recalls. Exciting times :D

Commiserations to all of those not recalled - yoyo, letitshine, beanie-bean and anyone else. I think everyone on this site does understand the feeling - and it's not a good one. I think it is just as hard for the parents as it is for the children, because we would dearly love to spare them the disappointment - and when they hurt, so do we. I know I feel worse when my dc don't get jobs they want than when I don't.

It's tough beanie-bean, but you are doing the right thing thinking of all the positives!

I know how you feel beanie bean, its tough and I really struggle if I am doing the right thing letting my dd audition when there are so many disappointments but she really wants to do this and I have to have confidence that it will all work out in the end. My dd also thought she had nailed this audition. Just keep moving forward and stay confident :) and I'm glad to know its not just me that feels like this.

Riverdancefan fantastic news for your dd. I'm delighted for him and SNN xx [-o<

DS got a recall. Proud, especially as we thought the non London address might end it all before he started. Excited but understand it is a long road with many precipitous drops and bends but he will try to enjoy the scenery anyway!
Hope to see you at the recalls

Well done everyone with recalls! That is great news. No recall for us - my dd also thought her audition went well, so I'm not looking forward to telling her. I've just dropped her off at YMT, and didn't want to leave her with that news. I'm not very good at being on this roller coaster either!! Let us know how the recalls go, lots of fingers crossed for you all xxx
