All fantastic advice as far as I can see. The only thing i would add is that you need to bear in mind call backs. My Ds applied to 5 but ended up only auditioning at 4. However with call backs this meant he actually did more 10 or eleven days worth, which out of a term when your trying to do A levels/exams is massive!

I've persuaded DD to write her applications in reverse order.....so her favourite one last.

That way I can ensure she doesn't fill in one (her favourite) then 'not get round' to filling in the rest #-o

How many are you down to Katymac?? ;) ;)

Have not sent any off yet - narrowed down to only 4 this year, see Urdang still don't have online application and Bird still updating their website...........!!

Dd trying to decide on songs/monologues - again has narrowed down to 3 or 4 so she can start properly practising as going to be a busy year

I'm in the same boat as you, my DD is now in year 11 and we are busy putting together the list for audition applications. I'm already losing sleep, hoping I don't miss anything and muck up her chances. We are also busy with Shows and exams (GCSE's and dance/singing) over the next year so I don't plan on sleeping much at all. I just hope my nerves don't affect her, #-o
I'm trying to track down open days at the moment. I saw Laines is 13th October and I've just applied for that, hope I'm not too late!

Oh, and the first thing I need to do is get some photos done. DD needs new ones for Spotlight anyway as we haven't updated them since she was 7  I just need to find a good but reasonable photographer in the South, if anyone knows of one? We are in Hampshire.

Bird are at the beginning of Oct (you have to open a separate window on the second home page)

Brit is 26th Sept

Umm we are at 8 for level 6 & 3 for level 3;I do want to reduce it but DD is being stubborn. Her teacher says just her top 3 but I am way too much of a wuss for that

Elmhurst dates are now out so looks like our first but still waiting for the updated form; Scotland Conservatoire have their applications online now so busy filling out CUCAS forms and older dd's UCAS forms. Rambert say November for their audition info; Central and English National Ballet info isn't out yet; John Cranko and Hamberg (Germany) have their deadlines already out and DVD is being put together after 'Cinderella' in February. Older dd will hopefully start with auditions in November too.
Good luck to everyone and enjoy the ride :D

Suesmith, hope to see you there!

Robsmumma, I did think about doing my own, but I believe Spotlight need professional, so thought I'd do both at the same time. If I don't find anyone I will do that though, thanks for the info.

OK I have new (to me at least) info

Brit school only take 10% outside of the Greater London area
Arts ed (6th form) only have 1 dance scolarship

Neither of which tbh are good odds - I think we need a new plan B

Would she reconsider Hammond? There have been some changes recently, there are DaDas available & it's a common first year before specialising in either MT or Dance. I know she was put off on her visit.

Well I wasn't over keen; she says she 'didn't feel right'

But maybe it wasn't the right time to visit - mind you it's a hell of a long way from us

Yes, I knew about the 10% for the Brit School, plus I think it is just the 2-year Btec course if I'm reading the website correctly
