Parent Chaperones

A friend's DS has a very small recording job next week and she has been asked to chaperone him but the production company has asked for her fees. She is not a registered chaperone and they know that and she has absolutely no idea what to suggest especially with it being a tiny job. She has asked me but I have no idea either as I have never acted as a chaperone in any paid capacity.
I have recommended this wonderful site to her and wondered if anyone had any advice?

Thank you so much. Her DS currently doesn't have an agent although she is looking into that as the next step after he has secured roles from auditions he has been put forward for by stagecoach. His first featured role was Benji in Priscilla alternating with my DS and I have advised her on many things since but I'm really clueless with this one lol! Thanks again

I've just been offered £10 an hour.

I only registered as a chaperone to help out on a voluntary basis and to cover off any requirements when DD2 is shooting her own films, so I'm quite chuffed that someone wants to pay me for something I'd do for nothing

Shame I'm too busy with my day job!

I've been a parent chaperone a few times now for TV work. Usually paid £60ish a day as I'm not registered.

I'm with Flosmum on the getting paid for something you'd have to do anyway but bear in mind that it will be up to your friend to record time spent on set, insist on regulation breaks and not going over the 4 hours (very hard sometimes) etc. The 2nd Ad always helped me with this.

Last week my chaperone fee was £85 for half a day... Usually at least £80 -£90 a day, but that includes travel expenses.
My experiences are all TV / Film/ voiceover work..... The theatre rates seem very low.. ( but aren't they always)

£80 - £90 per day is the fees we've received for chaperoning DS on TV commercials this year. But does vary from job to job, what do you mean by tiny?? 1-2 hours? Like a Voiceover?

Sorry folks! Just caught all these responses so thanks so much. I am so grateful and will pass all the info on to her. Tbh, the part is tiny. Her DS is part of a 4 minute audio for a visitor centre but will obviously be there longer then 4 minutes! Still can't imagine it would be very long though and she was happy to not be paid at all.
