West End Masterclass -with Michael Xavier free session
I believe there may still be some spaces on this. It hasn't been widely advertised.

Michael runs weekly sessions (10 per term) with excellent training and guest teachers from the west end such as Kerry Ellis. Places on the course are by audition only however he is running a free session on October 27th. Well worth checking out. Some age groups are full but the younger session I think still has room. Go go go!!!

As of January you can only join if you are over 13. They have just told all the under 13s who are there currently that they have to leave at the end of this term.

My DD used to go to this and it's absolutely fantastic. The best experience out there, in my humble etc. it's a shame the younger ones will no longer be allowed to benefit from it.

Has anyone heard yet?

Hi,
We've filled in online the form to attend and audition at West End Masterclass but then I realised that they won't tell you if they've got a place until really near the date and DD is supposed to be doing uDance that day as well?
Can anyone tell me what it's like for the 16 year olds and what the audition process was like and if a lot of people get offered places in the next term or not? It seems a lot of money but DD really wants advance training. would be very grateful for your views.

Hi Livy2
My daughter has just started there in January. We have only had two sessions so far and so far so good. I am not sure how many they will take on in one term as we don't really know who is new and who is not yet. The classes seem to be arranged so that 13-16 inclusive are in one group and about 17-20 are split into 2 groups on ability/experience. I don't know what really happens in drama and singing yet as we can't see that but can see the dancing from where the parents wait. The dancing seems to be of a high standard. From what I gather they seem to want people who are exceptional in one of the three disciplines but you don't have to be good at all three. The kids seem to really enjoy it and the is a good atmosphere and buzz about the place. It all seems very friendly and some of the kids travel from miles every Sunday (Newcastle,Cardiff,Torquay). The classes my daughter attends start at 2.30 and finish at 5.30 isn ! By the way my daughter is fourteen next month (grade 6 musical theatre, to give you some idea of standards.)
Hope this is of some help.If you have any further questions that i can help you with please feel free to pm me

My DD is 11 and we applied this week and heard today that although they dont usually take children younger than 13 they would like to see her in Feb for an audition.

DD had a great time and it was lovely meeting you downes

Re: West End Masterclass -with Michael Xavier free session
Dd also experienced this fantastic Masterclass 18 months ago - we didn't sign up for the audition but she got auditioned anyway (she was 9 att) :-) I was called to say Dd was successful, I was so proud, and so gutted at the same time as we couldnt do the regular class! They also have such a beautiful Christmas concert at Covent Garden- we would so love to be involved but not logistically feasible for us - would recommend to anyone though - great space (tardis:-) Great people.....great opportunity
