Our surgery charges £30 each time

Wow just realized how lucky I am, only had to get the doctors signature once so far but it has been free, apparently they can charge what ever they feel like.

Ours charged me £14 the first time I asked, it went up to £18 the next time. When it was due again I took both letters and pointed out that they were exactly the same except the date had changed, and even that was only the month because the number and year were the same. The receptionist said leave it with me and when I went to collect it there was no charge and they haven't charged for the following two either! Due for renewal next month, fingers crossed.
