2 applications done with 1 audition date through. Unfortunately we need a reference from DD's dance teacher for 3 further applications but despite asking 4 or 5 times it has not been forthcoming. I was thinking about asking the colleges if we can send the application off without this and forward it to them later as DD was hoping to audition for those colleges first. Has anyone else done this before?

She has previously auditioned at 2 of these colleges and been offered places; I don't know if that make any difference?

Central have said that dd can send off her application and send her reference later. We have sent off her application without the reference and received a reply yesterday to say she has the audition date we requested. Hope that helps.

Katymac,

If your DD gets call backs you may need to reschedule some of the first round ones. we found that they were very accommodating though. We also changed some of them at this stage as we had a similiar month last January (with a couple of A levels and driving test thrown in too!) They do understand if you ring up and say you have ended up with three auditions in a week... We changed one of our twice, once because of an exam and again because of a recall...as long as your reasons are sensible. On the positive side I found at that DS really got onto a roll with the routine of auditions and it passed in a blur!

Good luck - it's a tough month you've got!! Fingers crossed.

Which colleges do call backs? I hadn't even considered that!!

I assumed this would be it until they did DADA auditions at Easter time; have I got the wrong end of the stick completely??

(& is not wanted your favourite college to be first a bad reason to postpone it?)

The recalls are normally in April. The ones that I know that do recall auditions are laine, performers and Urdang.

Central do the morning, a big cut at lunch time as is normal with most of them (100 down to about 10 at Central), then a separate day about a week/10 days later - final recall day. They run four/ five of them through the year, ours was in Feb from a January audition. From memory, I think GSA also do a recall on a separate day? Someone else on here maybe able to confirm?

Arts ed is all in one day.

Just go along with it and juggle things around as necessary, I found they are very understanding on the whole.

That's OK - we haven't got GSA or Central & our Arts Ed is for the level 6 (as they won't let 16yos apply for the level 6 (I understand))
