What wonderful news orangebear4 Congratulations to your dd Something good to look forward to after her surgery Hope the surgery isn't too painful for her
He could go and he could shine, not just stay here counting time,
Son, we've got the chance to let him live
She starts next September. I will miss her so much as she will have to board during the week and just come home at weekends, but she wanted it so much and it will be a great experience, which she is very lucky to have!
Hi, congratulations to your daughter. My son age 10 has his preliminary audition in three weeks time. He has never auditioned for anything before and I wondered if you had any advice you could give? He plays violin and piano. I really hope he will be succesful but like you the thought of him being away all week is very scary! We loved the school when we visited and he is really keen to go. How long after the preliminary audition did you get a date for the main one and was it very different? Thanks.
Hi, regarding the auditions I think we were given the date for the main audition the day after the preliminary one. However, our time was limited as my dd was about to have her operation. I think auditioning on violin and piano would be very different from voice and flute and would be taken by a different member of staff, but I know they are looking for potential, especially for a 10 year old. They would like to know he is naturally musical and will probably ask questions about his interests and ambitions too. We were given lots of good advice about improvements to be made before the mian audition - I had the impression once they had asked you in for a preliminary audition they were interested in you and you were already half way there. At the main audition dd also did aural tests, academic tests, had an interview, saw round the school and met the headteacher. Just be yourself is my best advice, and try to relax, they are very friendly and want you to be successful.
