Dd2 received a rejection letter today from Central School of Ballet. She's disappointed as she really liked the school but felt there were a lot of older dancers there and she is only 15 so can always try again in a year if she doesn't get any offers. Still 4 auditions more to go.
Dd1 has a huge envelope from LIPA so am hoping it's audition info - she's not home yet so it's not been opened!

Ooh Katymac that sounds harsh :( Hope your dd's ok?
Dd1 is hoping to postpone her LIPA auditon....really impressed with them as they waived Dd1's audition fee and help with travel costs because we live in a deprived area where few access further education (top 10% of the Government's Multiple Deprivation Index)....wish ballet schools did this too!
Dd2's next audition is for Elmhurst so onwards and upwards :)

She's OK; she said they haven't rejected her dancing just her ability to fill in a form  which I thought very true!!

That does sound good - apparently Great Yarmouth isn't deprived enough  ;)

Just want to wish everyone the very best - got teary myself hearing about Katymac having to leave dd to continue journey :( The young people here, continuing into further Ed. show a real testament to their drive and determination to succeed don't they? I have no idea if my dd will be following their paths, in years to come, who knows. But just reading these journeys, fills me with hope that they all get a choice of their dreams. Scares me a little that although years away, the personal and parental commitment looks like it needs to be even stronger than we have now - 'break a leg' all of this years auditionees. How very proud all their parents must be =D>

Aw thanks Esmum - I was weepy too

I won't do it again!!

I'm working on preparing her to live away from home; she is far better prepared than I was at 19

I agree, all the kids need support, luck and praise.....(I think us parents need alcohol & chocolate - shame I'm teetotal and dairy free ;) )

Hi everyone, DD will be sending applications off any day now, here we go again! Her course leader has suggested she apply to Masters, London Studios, and 2 others, does anyone know anything ( good or negative) about these two? I do know they don't offer dada funding, and LondonStudio is a BA degree course

Would really appreciate hearing anyone's thoughts, we have not been able to go to any open days

Thanks

DD does the associate scheme at London Studio Centre & loves it

We went to the open day & I was very impressed with it - very dance centred I thought

Hope that you have all had a fab Christmas and that 2014 is going to be lucky for us all!

This time last year DD had a mad couple of weeks of auditions including a crazy drive through blizzard conditions to Guildford. She is auditioning later this year, so nothing until February/March but feeling the nerves already! Who has auditions this month? Anyone for the MT rather than Dance colleges?

Sorry Katy, just seen your post. So sorry about Urdang - It's so tough isn't it? :(
Just remember she is very young and there is plenty of time. The right course will come along [-o<

Sorry to hear that katymac, I think I remember you saying earlier that was her favourite. At least she still has other options, how many more is she waiting to hear back from?
