Editing Video Downloaded From uTube

A short film ds did a few years ago is on uTube I downloaded it to laptop downloaded windows movie maker trouble is movie maker will not recognize it have tried to download different formats like MP4 and WMV both original quality, have tried economy quality as well. Just hope one of you lovley people will be able to help me.

Have you tried converting it to MPEG-1 perhaps x

Then again i'm not great with IT aha

Not tried that but my down loader dose not have that option thanks any way

Have you tried Zamzar?

It's a free, online file conversion site. I've used it and it worked well, though I don't know whether it would accept the format that you are trying to work with.
