Broadway recommendations...?
We are lucky enough to be going to NYC in half term and wondered if anyone had got any recommendations of what to go and see on Broadway. We can only afford one show and Newsies has got some good deals, so is looking possible. Top of the list would probably be Kinky Boots, followed by Pippin, but it doesn't look like offers come up very often for those two, so they probably wont happen. Any thoughts gratefully appreciated...

Wow, how exciting!
My niece recently went to NYC on a school trip and they saw Annie on Broadway. She said it was fantastic, but I have no idea of ticket prices or availability.
Please let us know what you end up seeing.

I haven't seen any of them but Newsies is the one I would love to see and sounds like you could get tickets at a good price.....
Newsies may make it to London, as they have had preliminary auditions here, but things seem to have stalled on it atm. I believe there is a rumour of more auditions in the summer.

Is A Christmas Story still on? That's such a great show!
I haven't seen Newsies, but the soundtrack is fab so would recommend that as well. I saw Priscilla in Broadway then came home to find it touring here, which was a bit of a bummer! Felt like a wasted Broadway trip! Since Newsies will be in the West End soon, I'd go for 'Annie' or 'A Christmas Story'.

Annie finished on 5th January and Christmas Story on 30th December. Maybe try http://www.broadway.com/to see what's still on.

Try to find the dosh for Pippin!
I know a few people that have seen it on Broadway and without fail every one of them has been in raptures with it!
Utterly recommended !!

Thanks everyone. Having seen that both Kinky Boots and Newsies should be coming to London next year, I have managed to get tickets for Pippin. Excited!

Don't forget to visit Ellen's Stardust Diner, 1650 Broadway. The staff are all theatre students looking for their lucky break and they all sing . It is great fun and you will see some amazing talent . The food is good too!!
