Pencilled
My son went for his first ever audition for a commercial on Friday and agent told us Friday that he has been pencilled for the job, spoke to them today and agent told us they are auditioning some older children today!!! OMG the suspense is killing me!!!!! How often do children get the part if they are on a pencil???
Re: Pencilled
Well done, how lovely for ds and yourself. My dd has been penciled in and then heavily penciled in lots of times and sometimes she got the part and other times nothing ! You never know whats going to happen, this time could be good for you, but dont be to disappointed as this happens often. Good luck

Re: Pencilled
I've literally just been penicilled for something too, having never been pencilled before I did some research and it turns out that it's a bit hit and miss really. Loads of people report hearing nothing after being pencilled, and it's just the casting director's way of saying they want you but don't want to commit to you.. Not my words, but I thought it sounded like a good way of explaining it!
Anyway it sounds like it's really not definite either way and depends job by job. Good luck to your son!

Re: Pencilled
All the best with it.
The good news is that if you are pencilled in means you did a good audition and they think you are suitable. That's excellent feedback and reassurance to carry with you whatever happens next.
aspiringactressx is absolutely right though - a pencil is just a way of alerting you or your agent to the fact that you are in the running. It's really very common to have several people "pencilled" for commercials - and inevitably that means that some of those will then be dropped. I had 5 pencils for commercials last year and none of them came to anything
. It isn't any kind of commitment unfortunately. Sometimes a pencil turns in to a confirmed booking - but unfortunately it quite often doesn't. Fingers and toes firmly crossed for you!
