We have heard on here that some people are getting offers from two or three (some even more) colleges. They can only attend one so there's two reserve listers getting offers! This will be repeated time and time again, so keep your hopes up, you could be the next person getting that e-mail. [-o<

To be fair to gsa at the recall they said there are so few places now it might be a case of reserve list, the downside of auditioning late i suppose.
DD has had other offers but has no plans to accept any of them {evil} Kids......

That's what they said at my DD's audition too. But yes I agree, some of the students will have had several offers and they can't accept them all. I think the first UCAS deadline to reply to your offers is beginning of May and there's another one in June. Places will become available then. It's a nail biting time though especially if she's got her heart set on it. Good luck [-o<

I was discussing this last evening at a Les Mis rehearsal, several of the cast are waiting to hear about applications. One mum was saying that two years ago her dd was on three waiting lists, when it got to July she had given up and was panicking about what she was going to do the following year until she could start the audition process again, then mid July she received an offer \:D/ , they were so relieved, everyone cried (even her brother!) they went out and had a big celebration, then the next day she got another offer! Then she panicked about which one to choose!
Her brother who has just gone through the process (playing Marius in this production) got an offer at his first choice on the day, so hasn't had the trauma - with hand on forehead, in a very thespian way, he said he had been robbed of an opportunity to be dramatic

Some colleges will tell you what position you are on the waiting list ... DD was number 3 on hers and the head of admissions told her to make sure she got her student loan application in and accommodation booked as he was sure she would end up getting a firm offer ... I thought he was being overly optimistic but the day before her first A level exam, he was on the phone at 9AM offering her a place ... needless to say not much last minute revision got done that day!

Re the auditioning late and early ... I think there are pros and cons of both ... early on they give out fewer firm places so you have to be really special to bag one of those, but they do have fewer spaces left as the year progresses. That said, more schools seem to be delaying final recalls until after all first round auditions from what I have heard, which seems a much more sensible approach ...

Fingers crossed for all still waiting to hear [-o< [-o< [-o<

DD has decided to turn down her other offers as she only wants to go to gsa,she loves everything about it so we could be looking at a year out.

Thanks Tara1, I do feel very proud and I also feel she is immensely lucky to be offered a place and I'm very grateful. Neither of us expected it. We still can't believe it.

Being on the waiting list means your DD has every chance of being offered a place. Like we've said before many of them will have other offers too. I wonder if you can find out where on the waiting list she is. It might help you to know. My DD can't accept the place at GSA yet because she's on a waiting list for Urdang. There will be other people in that situation that will want to turn down a place at GSA but can't yet because they are waiting on somewhere else. I really hope she gets in!!! Waiting is a killer though isnt it?. Where are her other offers for?

Best of luck, Please keep us posted.
