alwood020 - what day was your dd at Laine - we were there on 24th. Not eligible for dada but auditioned for Laine Bursary funding, absolutely no idea what that will be - if anything Also no idea when we will hear - whether it will be same time as dada students or not?! Good luck hope you hear soon
Sue Smith - she auditioned on the 22nd the first day. laine is the most expensive school out of all of them so just my luck that this is the one where she wants to go.
Trying to save as much as possible now before I reach September to get in front of costs involved for any of the schools.
Lets hope for some good news over the weekend maybe!!
Fingers crossed for the bursary funding for your DD, they maybe there together come September!!
Thank you allwood020 - yes I am already doing loads of overtime at work to try and help, we are lucky that dd will be able to commute so won't have the expense of accommodation! x
Congratulations to those with DADAs and funding and good luck to those still waiting. Blackcat I can't answer your question re scores at the different colleges but you are correct in that the DADAs are offered on merit - ie to those they rated the highest and think have the most potential to succeed. Each college seems to decide differently - some scoring candidates and others reviewing audition tapes. There will lots of movement on the reserve lists. There are currently a lot of people holding more than one DADA. The colleges have to report each DADA offered to the CDET (Council for Dance Education & Training) and they will see who is holding more than one DADA and start asking them to make their choice. As each DADA is released, someone gets an offer off a reserve list - which is either the end of that DADA allocation or the start of a chain reaction - because the next person on the reserve list has already accepted elsewhere but prefers their new offer and returns their first DADA and on it goes. I don't know when the final date is for not holding onto 2 DADA places. Someone said the CDET review at the end of every month from April (ballet schools generally get DADA offers in March). But if your DD is on reserve lists only at this stage, she has still shown she is the standard a college is looking for and any audition is only a snap shot of what they can do. My DD was originally on just one reserve list and her funding came through just before May half term but looking at her year group it is impossible to tell who has DADAs and who has not.
