RKA

RKA are currently recruiting:

DS has been with them since coming out of Billy Elliot and we're very happy with them. I've found them to be approachable, friendly and helpful.

hi Tayla B,

do you happen to know roughly how many young performers/ teenagers they represent? would you guess less than a 100?

my current agent has a lot of people on their books (about 150 teens), and so am looking to find one that represents less people!

Sorry, jellybabies - I really don't know. If you look on their website you might get an idea, though as they list their clients under 'stage' or 'screen' experience (many are in both), I don't know how many they have who aren't listed under either. Most of their clients are adults. Also, I'm not aware of them advertising for applicants in this way before, so perhaps they're growing.

They have often advertised in this way in the past..

My DS was with them for about 6 months 2-3 years ago - incredibly tough audition to get in but he did.
Unfortunately for him, there was 6 months of zero whereas he had been quite busy up until then.
They were really friendly and very approachable and always happy to give advice, however we seemed tied to going into London every week for acting tuition as part of the "deal" and it was just too exhausting and expensive.

We parted on good terms and I really do think that for my DS being the height he was and is, the parts were just not there, no fault of the agent.

I think as an older teen RKA would be really good for my DS, once he is out of licensing ties.

DS does a weekly screen-acting class which RKA recommended, but I don't know whether it's compulsory.

Teenagers grow up though, so they have to replace them ;)

I always thought these looked really good. They seem to get their teens cast in lots of good things. Best of luck getting in.

DD would only be available between June & September so I don't think it's worth her applying (she is gutted)

Just got an email back saying I've made the initial shortlist! They asked for a self-taped audition including a monologue and any additional skills. Anyone else heard back?

yes I got the same email :)

not sure whether to go for it though as I don't really want to join an agency that then turns out to have even more clients on their books as my current agent!
