Re: September 2015
Well done to your DD Afab and best of luck with the LSC recall.
Re: September 2015
Hi Oscar,
Yes, my DS is also going down the musical theatre route. He has a recall for Mountview in May too so I guess they'll be together at that (May 2nd/3rd). It will be his last one. He has now finished all his first round auditions and has a break until March when he has an Arts Ed recall just for the singing bit, an Urdang recall for the degree/funding, and a Laine funding audition in April so it will be a while before he will know exactly where he will go. It does seem such a long wait doesn't it?
Thanks for the info Caroline A-C. DS says he is being sent more information in the post (the first one was an email). I will look into the LSC deposit further when it arrives.

Re: September 2015
Great news!! I can imagine how proud you are. Just to pick up on your comment that she trained in France. Did she have to apply as an overseas student? Also, do you know if you qualify to apply for Dadas if you are UK citizen but have trained abroad?afab wrote:Luckily I didn't have to wait for too long. Texts are wonderful things!
Unfortunately it's a no for Bird but with a yes to Chichester, a yes to Urdang for foundation and a yes to LSC recall audition, she feels quite happy...
As it was her first round of auditions and she's always trained in France where MT is not the specialty, we're very proud of her! Motherly moment here!![]()
Re: September 2015
Hi Jennifer, thank you...
My DD is British so she doesn't apply as a foreign student. Nevertheless we are not UK residents but yes we qualify for the fee part of DaDa but not the maintenance part. The fee part is a For UK and EU residents... But the maintenance is only UK residents... I hope it's clear...

Thanks for that, we are in similar situation and will be going down the drama school route soon, so it's good to start finding out what's what!!afab wrote:Hi Jennifer, thank you...

Re: September 2015
OMG, DD has had 4 auditions so far, and I can't quite get my head around this - she has three invites to funding finals and one outright offer! She's so thrilled, and still has 3 more auditions to come...
Re: September 2015
Thanks Pearl, she has an offer from Northern Ballet School, funding final for Tring, and has finals at two other dance schools. Really enjoying reading about the adventures of others on here, as I don't know too much about MT/drama courses.
Best of luck to everyone with dc's auditioning (and with GCSE's or Alevels looming too), they all have so much on their plate just now!

Re: September 2015
My first post although I have been scouring this forum for months and months.
Just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all the contributors out there who have asked the questions I wanted to ask and to those who have answered them ahead of my dd's auditions - I simply don't know where we would have been without learning about how to stick sheets of music together or whether red lipstick was non-negotiable at certain places. It has been such a comfort hearing about different audition experiences, how long responses have taken, how stressed us parents have become whilst our dc's seem to take it all in their stride.
And now I have somewhere to SHOUT about how bloody proud I am to be the mother of a beautiful talented dd who has had offers from Bird (degree), Laine (Dada recall April), LSC (recall April), LIPA (recall April), Chichester and Roehampton degrees - she is about to do Urdang (had to postpone her January audition due to illness). All my friends have children who are applying to Uni at the moment but doing that is easy peasy compared to the hoops our children are all currently jumping. I want to shout from the rooftops!
So now, if any of you want specifics about any of the auditions she has attended, please ask. She is at the BRIT School at the moment doing dance so I can answer questions about there too.
Fave places so far are Bird and Laine - although she loved Liverpool too - wonder if any of our dc's will end up being flatmates?

Re: September 2015
ooh lots more offers coming in! Well done to everyone so far with great results. After thinking DD would get nothing this year, she has also now had an offer from Italia Conti for the 3 yr performing arts diploma! She's now completely torn between that and the degree course at LCM! Any advice welcome. Getting the dada or not may be the deciding factor, but can't decide at the moment!

Re: September 2015
Exciting Katy! What new colleges caught her eye?
Re: September 2015
Tiffany's, The Centre (which she always wanted to apply for but the transport was complicated - the principal explained it all) & Institute of the Arts in Barcelona
I'm exhausted!

Katymac ... several of my daughters favourite teachers from LIPA have gone out to teach at Institute of the Arts in Barcelona ... she was gutted when they left. Good luck to your DD with her auditions ... when do they all start?
