which part time schools audition for MT classes?
I was wondering, are there any drama schools (that offer musical theatre classes) for younger kids (say 8+) that audition kids before they take them on? My friend from eastern europe was telling me that they don't accept all children there as they want to have a certain standard in the schools. I think most places here accept anyone, do you think it's an issue or would a talented child shine through and progress anyway no matter how motivated/gifted the children in his class are?

I know EDSA (in Hitchin and Cambridge) does. I don't have experience of it though.

We audition, but also start slightly older (age 13).

My dd spent 3 years at EDSA in Hitchin and gained so so much from it..they audition the prospective students and their annual shows are amazing,TalyaB wrote:I know EDSA (in Hitchin and Cambridge) does. I don't have experience of it though.
They also now offer a full time Btec for 16+ and they have just moved to a purpose refurbished building,...well well worth a look...they also offer free taster days to see if you like it.
They have brilliant success stories too of students being offerd places at Laines, Urdang, Mountview, Bodyworks, Arts Ed, Birds, Performers etc..they also have a successful Talent Agency.
I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way.......
