Bird Accommodation

Post by squashballs »

DD has finally made a decision and confirms she wants to go to Bird College. We are starting to look for somewhere for her to live in Sidcup. Is anyone else out there in the same position and would like to flat share? Or do any old Birdies have tips for finding somewhere half decent? She has been advised against halls on the grounds that they were too noisy for dance students having to get up early and work all day. I think perhaps a nice landlady who can cook would be the best move but she seems to want to be immediately independent (even though the only thing I have ever seen her cook is toast). Her moving out is an exciting event but completely terrifying at the same time!

Have you looked to see if there is a Bird College Freshers group set up on facebook yet for 2015-16 ? No personal experience of Bird but one of DDs friends used the facebook page to find accommodation a couple of years ago. Congratulations on her place and the start of a new exciting journey!!

Aww thanks! We are really chuffed. Facebook pages are up and running and groups are forming - I feel we need to get ourselves over to Sidcup one weekend to get a feel for the place. I have never been as I wasn't able to go with her to her auditions (as I'm a teacher) so she went all on her own, poor lamb. She does know some people from Brit going so hopefully we'll get organised soon.
