Re: September 2015
DS had a call from Mountview today offering him a place off the reserve list. He is over the moon as it was one of his favourites! I thought I would share it to give others hope that reserve lists are starting to move.

That's brilliant news ajbew....And I wanted to say well done to all those with their offers...and good luck to all those waiting to hear about funding etc...You have all done amazingly well, and should be very proud of yourselves...I wish everyone all the best for September 2015 xxx
Re: September 2015
Hello, all this waiting is difficult, i never realised how hard it would be. Does anyone know anything about the Andrew Lloyd Webber scholarship for Urdang and how many people are put forward? Many Thanks
Re: September 2015
Hi all, my son is on the reserve list for rambert and it's driving me crazy waiting!!! I think he has come to thinking that he is not going to get in this year so has sort of given up!!
just like to say congratulations to everyone who has had offers

Pearl and Almo, the new term dates for next year are now up on Urdang's website!

Myy DD says a few of her friends have had a phone call from Bird today offering them a degree place from the reserve list.dancingmoll wrote:Anyone know when Bird started offering places to the reserves last year?
Re: September 2015
The waiting list for Rambert is a great achievement! He must be a great dancer! Has he applied to any of the other contemporary dance schools? I think all the others are degrees so wondering if he is not yet 18. Don't give up yet as he may get a phone call over the summer. Then apply again. The waiting is terrible. My DD has had 2 years of auditions, nearly 20 altogether I think but it has been worth it as she has had 4 offers this year.joemill wrote:Hi all, my son is on the reserve list for rambert and it's driving me crazy waiting!!! Re: September 2015
Hi Recess, yes he applied for lcd and nscd. He had a no from lscd but is also on reserve list for nscd but really wants Rambert. Last year he only applied for urdang and was offered a 90% scholarship but then decided that he didn't really want musical theatre so he turned that down.. He was 19 in January so if he doesn't get in this year I think that next year will be his last chance Cos of his age!!! My fault really cos i didn't want him going till he was at least 18.. wish now that he had started applying when he was 16.. that amazing that your daughter has had 4 offers thus year, you must be really proud. HaS she decided where she is going to go?? I think that if he doesn't get in this year then next year we need to apply to a lot more than we did this year.. xx

Re: September 2015
Hi joemill, My ds is also 19. He did 5 auditions this year but only had one recall and then subsequently an offer from LSC. We were starting to get very worried that next year would be even harder and I'm sure that the lack of other offers this year was partly due to his age.
ajbew - that's great news for your ds, you must be very proud. I did call LSC to ask if they re-allocate any funds that are not taken up (eg your ds's scholarship). They were very helpful. They said they always over-allocate because they know that people will be offered places elsewhere and not all of them will be taken up. So if they end up with more being declined than their actual allocation, those funds will then be re-offered. That could mean that someone who has been offered a part scholarship, could be moved up the list and changed to a higher percentage and then their original offer given to someone else who hasn't had an offer of funding. This could all happen right up until August because people are still changing their minds about where to go based on funding offers elsewhere (even if they have paid their deposit, they could decide it is worth losing that to take up an offer elsewhere). So in summary, we are going to accept DS's place and the funding offered and keep hoping that further funding might become available (if not, we'll have to beg, steal or borrow to get the rest of the funds he needs for this year and then hope for a miracle in the next two years!!).
Well done to everyone who has a place for September and good luck to all who are still waiting to hear.

Joemill
My DD is going to London Studio Centre. It looks like a good course for her because they have several different strands to the course, ballet, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary. Her main love is musical theatre/jazz but she also enjoys contemporary so is looking forward to those classes too. I will keep my fingers crossed for your DS!

Re: September 2015
Hi movie mite mum, is that london studio centre or London school of contemporary dance?? What course is it for??
That's fab that he has had an offer!!! I am very worried about the age thing,, I did hope that it wouldn't go against them!! What funding was he offered, it is so expensive and I believe that it is sometimes unfair that the place that our children have to choose does depend on the funding and money...
Recless sounds like you dd has made the right choice and I wish her all the luck with her future,, thanks I have everything crossed for him too as u don't think I an go through this again next year lol xxx
