Central Recalls

Post by lindy7 »

Hi I'm sure many of your DD or DS has been through the Central auditions so can anyone tell me when they auditioned in the morning but not called back for the afternoon did anyone still get a recall?: My DD went this week and was told just if you don't stay until the afternoon does not mean you wont get recalled as they have seen enough or we may have not seen enough for some!

Hello Lindy, sorry to say that I think if you haven't been asked to stay for the afternoon then it's probably a "no". Dd auditioned last year and was kept back for MT, she heard it was a "no" before she got home! This year she was asked to stay for acting and we are still waiting to hear about a recall, several weeks on. Best wishes to your dd.

Following on from this subject.. Anyone have any experience of final recalls for Central, it seems ages since dd auditioned, she hasn't been asked for a recall nor has she been rejected, are they still doing recalls or should we expect a "no"? Thanks

Hi Soda,
Apparently Central get to the end of the block of auditions before they send out e mails etc for final re calls. I also think that if you don't get asked to stay for the afternoon, then unfortunately it is a no. My daughter was there a fortnight ago, and was asked back for the afternoon for both the MT and straight acting courses. She was told that she would,t hear until about 25th April. She got a final re call last year for MT, but it was eventually a no.
Fingers crossed for this year, but it is such a difficult process, as I'm sure you will agree.
My daughter has got close in a few places, but no place anywhere yet. I'm beginning to get concerned that she will end up with nothing.

Thanks jay bee, I guess they are in the same block. Good luck to your dd. Dd has an offer for ArtsEd MT foundation and BA MT from LCM, if nothing comes from Central I think she will take the foundation place and try again next year.

Good luck to her.
My daughter has also been on a Foundation Course this year, but unfortunately has not been accepted on to the full 3 yr course. This has really brought home to us how difficult it is to get on to the BA course, even if you have been on the Foundation. She really has enjoyed the Foundation course, and has gained a lot from it. Despite getting positive feed back all year, they were not interested in her for the BA course at all. I am now really struggling not to come to the conclusion that such courses exist only as money spinners.

Hello soda, Jaybee is right, Central do a final "3rd" audition session after each block, usually a few weeks after. From what I remember the final recall is a long session - starts about 2 and finished about 8pm!

If your DD got through to the afternoon and still hasn't heard anything I would just give them a ring - it maybe that she was just at the beginning of the block.

fingers crossed

xx

Thanks Tess, dd is actually really busy for the next few weeks, she is doing an unrelated course,it would really suit her if recalls were later. We will just wait and see xx

I'm going to PM you too if that's ok. My DD has had a Foundation offer and we are unsure whether to accept it!
