Millenium Loan Designation

Post by Kathy3girls »

Email today confirming that Millenium BA Hons Musical Thratre has achieved loan designation - as expected max £6000 can be claimed from student funding but Course Fee for three years are £9000 per year
I'm not sure why this is lower than expected and cynically wonder if they don't have many who have accepted s place
My daughter also has offer from LSC but fees there £13700 so big difference in top up

The Millenium course is relatively new and its a small school which can be an advantage
I would welcome anyone's experience of either school

Hi Kathy3girls my daughter is at Millennium and we r more than happy! She started when term had already began as she was going to another sch but that's another story !! So far training very good she has really improved at ballet loves the teaching and although not a singer she can sing quite well now ! U are right think it's prob the smallest sch but not sure as we didn't look at other MT schools as we always thought the singing would stop her getting a place! When I took daughter for audition as she had to audition with pupils that had started the new term because of the situation she was in !! Donald who is one of the Directors showed us around and he knew all the pupils names which I liked also because it's smaller my daughter gets lots of attention . If there is anything u need to know just ask but there is no negatives for us and the sch is very approachable they even let my daughter attend for 2 wks to see if she wanted to go there . Good luck x

I don't think the size of the school has any bearing on the student loan. My understanding is that it is because it is designated as a private university. The same is also true of Mountview, ArtsEd and London Studio Centre and you can only borrow £6000 for those too. Bird and Urdang seem to be eligible for the full £9000 loan but you apply for them both directly and through UCAS so perhaps it is the UCAS connection that makes the difference?

Ithanks for feedback
I was told last Autumn that the fees were £11000 so they have reduced them

MY DD is in her 1st year at LSC and absolutely loves it! She's improved in all areas and has learnt lots of new styles too! She took part in the spring showcase which was phenomenal! She's gearing up for assessments now then they start rehearsing for the summer show! Feel free to pm me if you want any further info
